Mortal Shell 2 ウォークスルー: 最適ルート
Mortal Shell 2

How this walkthrough is structured
Mortal Shell II does not hand you a quest log or a clear "go here next" marker. After the prologue the game removes the Shell, revive, Shell ability and stat bonuses the tutorial gave you, and the difficulty spikes immediately. A guide that lists exact enemy placements would age badly anyway, so this page gives you the route order that player walkthroughs converge on, plus the decisions that are expensive to reverse.
Use it as an ordering tool, not a step-by-step script. The world is compact and densely connected, and most of the time the correct answer is "do the nearest beacon dungeon, then the nearest fog gate".
1. Prologue and Widow's Overlook
You start at the prologue area, which teaches Shell Revive, the Shell ability and the stat bonuses of your starting Shell. The prologue ends with a boss encounter — the Tar Golem — which is also tied to an achievement. Finishing it drops you at Widow's Overlook, the first real beacon and the best introduction area in the game because so much is reachable from it.
Before you leave the hub, do the cheap preparation that pays off: upgrade the Iconoclast (your starting weapon) to around +3, and pick up both the Infinite Seal (parry) and the Slayer Seal (easy mode) so you have the option later. You do not have to equip either.
2. Get a Shell before anything else
Your first task is not a quest — it is buying a body. Proxima and Tiel are both available near Widow's Overlook, and Tiel is the softer landing: a stealthy rogue with an enhanced dodge. On the way you will meet bats that hit far above their weight; open with a shot from your sidearm and kill them before they reach you rather than trading blows in a group.
Once you have a Shell, return to the Shell Keeper and bond it. Bonding costs Glimpses and unlocks tiers of the skill tree; five Glimpses is enough to reach Bond Level 2 in one walkthrough report. Spend your first skill points on the Shell's signature ability and on Mether Pulse — your healing capacity.
3. Clear the Widow's Overlook beacon dungeon
Beacon dungeons are short, self-contained, and almost always end in a chest with something unique. The one attached to Widow's Overlook is a good example of the loop: fight in, solve a simple switch or block puzzle, take the reward, and mark the dungeon complete on your map.
Always mark dungeons
Fog-gate dungeons never mark themselves as complete. If you do not mark them manually you will end up re-entering cleared dungeons later, wondering whether you already looted them.
Two items worth pulling out of the early beacon loop: Revered Gland, which increases Mether Pulse capacity, and Gloombound Flame — described by one creator as the game's hard mode item, the mirror image of the Slayer Seal.
4. The Mushroom Village and the Chapel Key
The village area near Widow's Overlook is the intended next step. It is full of enemies that are individually weak, so aggressive attacking works because hits interrupt their wind-ups. This is also where you will find the offering chest puzzles and, from a small world puzzle in the same area, the Chapel Key.
Take the Chapel Key back in the direction opposite the village — to the Chapel, also called the Shrine of Trials. It is a puzzle dungeon rather than a combat gauntlet: kill a wave, hit a block with a heavy attack to slide it into place, and repeat. At the end sits a knight that will feel familiar if you played the prologue, and behind him the Axe and Dagger, which for most players is the first real weapon choice of the run.
5. Ruins of Mammon: do not go yet
Technically nothing stops you from walking to the Ruins of Mammon, on the opposite side of the map, right after the prologue. Everyone who has done it regrets it. The area is significantly harder than everything surrounding Widow's Overlook, and the enemies that look identical to tutorial enemies are not.
Think of it like going to Caelid before Liurnia: possible, and a terrible idea unless you already know the route.
6. Unlock fast travel, then take the Corrupted Gate
Cleansing beacons produces Ovum. Turn in enough of them at the Citadel and you receive Mether's Breath — the game's fast travel item — which one player reports receiving after four Ovum. Until then you are walking, which is another reason to cleanse every beacon you pass.
With fast travel online, the Corrupted Gate is the next major step. It behaves like a compact legacy dungeon: an offering chest, regular enemies, a mini-boss, and a boss behind a glowing red sheep interaction. You can summon an ally for the fight — the summon differs per boss.
7. Boss behaviour worth knowing in advance
Bosses in Mortal Shell II use far more red (unblockable) attacks than regular enemies, which means fewer punish windows early in a fight. Player notes on the first major boss describe a charge attack that is easier to avoid from slightly behind, a cannon attack that is hard to read when it starts off-screen, a spin attack you simply back away from, and a mid-fight transition into adds.
Defensive tools are weak in the first phase of that fight — Harden in particular is close to useless against it. Save your healing for after the phase transition instead of trading through it.
Route summary
Prologue → Tar Golem → Widow's Overlook → Tiel → bond the Shell → Widow's Overlook beacon dungeon → Mushroom Village → Chapel Key → Shrine of Trials for the Axe and Dagger → cleanse beacons for Ovum → Mether's Breath → Corrupted Gate boss.
Detailed boss names, exact enemy counts and the full late-game area order are not confirmed by our sources and stay 未確認 until tested or officially documented.
