Mortal Shell 2 Beste Waffen: Top-Auswahl

What is the best weapon in Mortal Shell II?
The honest answer is that the game is not built for one. Mortal Shell II has no weapon scaling at all — there is no S/A/B grade, no strength or dexterity requirement, and any Shell can wield any weapon. The starting Iconoclast is a genuinely viable weapon to the end of the game.
What separates weapons is the moveset and the infusions they can accept. That means "best" is a question about your hands and your build, not about a damage number.
The three things that actually differentiate weapons
1. Moveset and speed. Some weapons are quick with short reach, some are heavy with long range, some trade damage for recovery. Fast weapons interrupt enemies more reliably: one player notes that the Axe and Dagger let them stun-lock enemies the Iconoclast simply cannot.
2. Infusion compatibility. This is the hidden tier list. Not every weapon can take every infusion. The Axe and Dagger can be infused with Blood Curse, which deals massive damage once enough stacks are applied — perfect for a fast-hitting weapon. The Axatanas (dual katanas) cannot take Blood Curse at all. If you are planning a poison build, confirm the weapon can take the poison infusion before you invest.
3. Signature Tarstones. Some stones only work with one weapon. The Colossus stone only works with the hammer; the Scholar's Whetstone only works with the scythe. If you want to build around a specific weapon ability — a "spin to win" scythe build, for example — only that weapon can do it.
Test before you invest
Every time you find a new weapon, equip it and fight with it for ten minutes before spending anything. Weapon enhancements get expensive in later tiers, and while a respec does exist later in the game, you should not rely on it as a planning tool.
Weapons named in community discussion
These are the weapons that come up repeatedly in player tier lists and walkthroughs. Their relative ranking is community opinion, not verified data.
| Weapon | What is known |
|---|---|
| Iconoclast | The starting sword. Solid and viable to the endgame; slower than the faster options and weaker at interrupting enemies. |
| Axe and Dagger | A fast-hitting short-range pair. Found in the Shrine of Trials (the Chapel dungeon) and widely recommended as the first real upgrade. Accepts Blood Curse. |
| Axatanas | Dual katanas. Fast, with strong infusion options — but cannot take Blood Curse. |
| Great Martyr's Blade / Martyr's Blade | The heavy two-handed option. Named in community discussion; frequently paired with the tank Shell Eredrim. |
| Black Needle | Named in community tier-list material. Detailed behaviour Unbestätigt. |
| Clockwork Scythe | Pairs with the exclusive Scholar's Whetstone. Detailed behaviour Unbestätigt. |
The hammer — and therefore the Colossus stone build — is referenced but not named in our sources, so the hammer's actual in-game name is Unbestätigt.
How to choose, given your Shell
Because Shell and weapon are independent choices, pair them deliberately:
- Tiel (stealth, enhanced dodge) with a fast weapon such as the Axe and Dagger turns dodging into constant pressure and constant interrupts.
- Eredrim (damage sponge) with a heavy weapon like the Great Martyr's Blade lets you trade hits that would stagger a lighter Shell.
- Any Shell can run the Iconoclast if you simply like the moveset — you are not giving up damage scaling, because there isn't any.
Weapon upgrades and the respec you should know about
Weapon enhancements cost gold and get expensive in the later tiers. Critically, a respec option exists later in the game: if you fully invest in a weapon and then find something better, you can refund the materials you invested rather than re-farming them.
That changes the early-game advice from "hoard everything" to "invest in what you are actually using" — but only once the respec is available. Before that point, upgrade the weapon you have equipped, and keep the Iconoclast at a reasonable level as a fallback.
What is not confirmed
Damage values, exact move-frame data, the full weapon roster with locations, and any official balance targets. Balance Patch 1 is confirmed to include weapon buffs, so expect the community ranking to shift. All specific numbers remain Unbestätigt.
