Mortal Shell 2 Spieldauer: Wie lange dauert es?
Mortal Shell 2 Spieldauer: die 40-45 Stunden aus Community-Berichten, was einen Lauf verlängert, Completionist-Schätzung und was unbestätigt ist.
Kurze Antwort
How long is Mortal Shell II?
40 to 60 hours is the honest working range. Every figure available is a community or guide estimate — there is no official playtime figure and no HowLongToBeat entry.
| Source | Reported length | Verification |
|---|---|---|
| TrueAchievements | 40-50 hours | Community (data site) |
| Player completion thread | ~45 hours | Community report |
| Completion feedback thread | ~40 hours | Community report |
| HowLongToBeat | — | TBD |
| Official figure | — | TBD |
That spread is why this wiki quotes 40-60 hours as the working range: the tracked site sits at 40-50, individual reports reach 45, and the range leaves headroom for completionist routes.
Do not write “Mortal Shell II takes 45 hours”
That number comes from a single player. Guide estimates cluster at 40-60 hours. The correct phrasing is "estimated completion time: 40-60 hours (community estimate)", and that is what this wiki uses.
What is actually in those hours
The scale of the content explains the number. The publisher's official page confirms 8 playable Shells and more than 60 handcrafted dungeons, and reviews confirm the sequel has significantly more boss encounters than the first game.
That is a dense amount of content for a compact map. The world is described as a compact open world that is dense and interconnected, with every biome branching out from Marrow Keep. Distances are short; density is what eats the clock.
What makes a run longer
The 60+ dungeons. Beacon dungeons are short and self-marking. Fog-gate dungeons are not marked as complete at all, which is why players who do not mark them manually end up re-clearing content — the single biggest source of wasted hours in this game.
Glimpses and Shell bonds. Bonding Shells costs Glimpses, and higher bond tiers cost progressively more. Glimpses appear to be finite within a single playthrough, so a completionist run that wants every Shell maxed effectively requires multiple playthroughs.
Tarstone levelling. Tarstones level through combat XP, need gold for tier two and Tar Core for tier three — and Tar Core only drops from levelling up other Tarstones. Players deliberately level stones they do not want in order to harvest Tar Core for the ones they use.
No early fast travel. Fast travel is locked behind Mether's Breath, earned by turning in Ovum from cleansed beacons. One walkthrough reports receiving it after four Ovum. Until then every return trip is on foot.
What makes a run shorter
Skipping the harder region early. The Ruins of Mammon sits on the opposite side of the map and is significantly harder than everything around Widow's Overlook. Walking in early is the most common way players lose hours to deaths they could not yet prevent.
Settling on one weapon. There is no weapon scaling in Mortal Shell II, so the starter Iconoclast is genuinely viable to the endgame. Players who stop testing every weapon and simply upgrade what they use save a lot of gold and time. Weapons can also be respecced later in the game.
Using the Slayer Seal. It is the strongest defensive option in the game and it dramatically speeds up trash clearing — but it disables achievements on that save, so it is only a shortcut if you do not care about the list.
Completionist estimate
A 100% run is a different proposition from a story run. With 53 achievements (3 of them reported as missable), more than 60 dungeons and 8 Shells to bond, completion almost certainly requires NG+ or a second run — and NG+ is confirmed to exist.
One community tier list was written by a player at NG++, which implies players are running the game at least three times — a rough signal for how long the completionist path really is.
Do not try to do everything in one run
Bond one Shell deeply instead of four Shells shallowly, and leave bond-gated milestones for a second run. After Balance Patch 1 the Shell map uses Gloom rather than Glimpses and spent Glimpses are refunded, so re-check the current economy before planning your route.
How this will change
Mortal Shell II released on August 20, 2026 and Balance Patch 1 has already shipped, covering economy changes, boss and enemy nerfs, and weapon and Tarstone buffs. Boss nerfs shorten runs; economy changes can lengthen the upgrade grind. Both push the number around, which is another reason we label this a snapshot rather than a fact.
Still unconfirmed
An official playtime figure, a HowLongToBeat entry, main-story-only versus completionist splits, and any NG+ scaling that changes clear times. All TBD.
NG+ itself is confirmed to exist — it is the effect on clear times that is unknown.
